Understandable. ... You definitely have a unique perspective compared to others, then.
[ oh my god, "can't say i would shit myself"... he hadn't expected that. ]
Taking on vampires and monsters, head-on. [ as evidenced by his tone, he might be somewhat in awe. ] Kaa~ Yeah, you're a powerful person, I'd say. One with crazy abilities, right?
[ Ishtar was a pretty outspoken girl despite her well delicate appearance. She's definitely got a lot of sass. It's not obviously showing for various reasons but that was a comment that made it through her filter. ]
Yeah something like that.
[ He shouldn't be too much since the former princess wasn't that amazing. ]
Not exactly. I'm only good at healing and making barriers. I can kinda fight but my skills are sorta rough so not anything crazy unless you count magic using crazy.
Any suggestions on mannerisms/memories he could get?
Thank you! [He smiles at her as he raises his glass.]
If it looks intimidating, then that is all the more reason to engage it head-on! [Lee holds the glass out to her as if toasting, and then he starts to drink it!]
[Don't worry, Ishtar. Takeru was trying his best to sound like an adult despite him being a child sometimes. As much as she was trying, Takeru will understand what she meant]
Mhmm, I am! Because if it's for me, I can take care of myself. But if it dor my friends, I don't know if they can handle it! And besides, I wouldn't be a very good friend if I didn't!
[He said with a sigh. But he does have to wonder how long it would be before he can handle Cerealia. It was starting to take a toll on the poor boy]
But don't worry, I will! And I got Patamon with me so I'll be okay!
[ He's a smart boy so she can't really argue with that. She trusts that he will be mature enough to handle it if he understands. If anything she'll be here for him whenever he needs her. ]
That's definitely a fact there. You're so mature, Takeru. I wish I was this mature when I was your age. It's kind of silly how I acted when I was younger.
[ Eventually, there will be a point where everyone will be able to handle it but it's different for every person. ]
Yes, that's good to hear. I'm glad to see you're doing well and I'm glad that I get to be here to see you again if anything. How is Patamon by the way? I haven't seen the little guy.
[ She sure hopes he's going to be okay. She's still worried regardless. ]
Haha, I guess you have a point there.
[ She only smiles as he drinks the contents. Of course, the contents would now make him feel the need to curse at someone or throw really bad insults at them. Hopefully a poor NPC won't make him mad. ]
[He drinks it up and sets down the empty drink with a refreshed sigh. But before he can comment further on it, one of the bartenders accidentally spills another drink at him. Lee then suddenly starts uncharacteristically cursing him off.]
... Subjectivity again, I'd say. To me, and surely to most of my world, abilities like that are pretty amazing.
[ and there's sincerity here, too. gosh! ]
But it sounds like you're more of a defensive player, then. [ player. person. same thing in football terms. ] Ah— Have you considered joining that coalition, the one led by Rock Lee?
[ shit, shit. he realizes his world might sound just as interesting to her, too. ... okay, probably not. it's so slice of life. ] Oh, you know. My world is high school. Grades, football, college-prep... Stuff like that.
And no problem. It's for both those that are trained in combat as well as healers. If there's an incident -- as there often is, I'd say -- they're called together to more efficiently handle it.
[ It's a lot more interesting than he thinks it is to be honest. Ishtar is more fascinated with the world way different than her own and she was curious to say the least, really. ]
I don't exactly know what all of that means. I know school is a place for education. What is "High School" and all the other stuff like football and college-prep? Oh alright, I definitely will look into it since I like to be of use in some way or form. I'm glad to hear that there is something like that for both people who can fight those that cannot.
[ She smiled softly as she listened to his words. Ishtar enjoyed helping people so that definitely piqued her interest. ]
[ but he's willing to answer; he did bring it up, and he understands the curiosity and thirst for knowledge. so, smoothly and in order: ]
High school comes after middle school. Where I'm from, nine years of education is compulsory; high school is an optional extra three years, but most people go on to it anyway. It opens more doors as far as jobs go— and college comes afterward, wherein people specialize further. ... Thus the "college-prep"; getting into a college is no joke.
[ he knows that was fast must've been a bit tedious to listen to... he hopes his tone indicates that he's open to questions. ]
And American football is a sport. [ ... his life, really. ] Well, it's a lot more than that.
Oh, is it? I'm sorry. Maybe I shouldn't have asked.
[ She replied giving him a worried look. She didn't think it was that tough of a question but maybe the explanation was pretty long, maybe. ]
...
[ Ishtar carefully listens as he explains it as brief as he can. She doesn't seem to get it well right away but she tries her best anyhow. The girl waits a moment before speaking after he finishes. ]
School sounds really obnoxious. You have to do all of that just to get an education? It's so complicated.
[ She furrowed her brows a little before listening to the football comment. ]
[ he waves his hand, flustered as he tries to wave off the apology. that wasn't her fault; he's intent on taking the credit for his awkwardness.
his smile becomes crooked. ]
It's obnoxious in it's length, I suppose. Undoubtedly, it would be shorter if we were allowed to specialize from the get-go. [ really, even if he thinks the subject useful, he doubts those with an interest in sociology have much use for a calculus class. ] But... It's fun, I think. I like it.
[ he blinks at her question. ]
Right, a full-contact one. You have to wear protective gear and all, as it can get pretty violent. [ "really violent", if you play it like he does. alas, he knows it's not for everyone. ] You have a favorite sport back home, maybe?
[ That makes the two of them being awkward. She'll try her best to not be as awkward in the future. Meeting new people is an interesting experience in itself, though. She's glad to see that he's smiling at the very least. ]
I see, so they don't really offer "specialized" stuff from the beginning at all?
[ It makes sense since Ishtar thinks the same way. She doesn't like using anything that isn't useful to her foals, however if she really needs it, she'll attempt to do it. ]
That doesn't sound safe at all. It's a game right? Why would people get violent in the first place?
[ She believes in fair game and other things, but she's idealistic, so-- yeah. ]
Humm... well I love horse riding. Too bad I haven't found any stables here. Do you know if this place has it?
Ah, well... You can pick and choose some classes. But there's where clubs can make up for limitations; for instance, if you're interested in mathematics beyond what classes offer, that's when you could join in after school programs.
[ marco nods at her analysis of the sport; it's not inaccurate. ]
... Thankfully, with the gear is place, usually severe injuries can be avoided. [ aha. ] And people get violent because that's how you can win, I'd say.
[ as for her last question, that requires a bit of thought. horses, had he ever seen any? even monstrous ones? ... well. perhaps in miniature cybuddy form. ]
—I don't think so, unfortunately. The only real, live animal I've ever seen here was someone's dog.... [ hm. ] But if you want to, I imagine ViViD could cater to that.
