◎ Background/History:
Ishtar was born as a direct descendant of Phelios which automatically gave her the right to ascend unto the throne of Pheliosta, a country built on blood and tears of their old king, St. Phelios. She was also considered a sacred symbol for her country. Her mother passed away at childbirth, and her father wasn’t mentioned once during the series. She is currently the Princess of Pheliosta, and well on her way to become the next Queen of Pheliosta.

Pheliosta was named after her Great-Grandfather St. Phelios who perished in the War of Lost Souls against the Vampire King Duzell. He supposedly saved humanity from their impending doom and at that time, the vampire king cursed him. He cursed Phelios, saying that in a century both of them would be reborn and Duzell would complete his revenge. There was one small problem, though. Duzell was reincarnated as a harmless house cat and didn’t know who Phelios’ reincarnation was and that was where Ishtar came in. She adopted the kitten after he tried to kill her by possessing the larger kyarru and after biting her to test if she was Phelios or not. Ishtar coincidentally named him Duzell, because when he bit her, he drew blood. She also called him a bloodsucker.

The story progressed to where Ishtar went through a series of tutoring lessons and getting poisoned by an assassin. Yujinn mentioned that it was most likely someone from the royal family. Duzell saved her claiming he needed her help and using a poison neutralizing spell in his cat form. The girl then ditched as soon as she was better in the morning, leaving Darres sleeping next to her bedside. Eventually, Duzell assumed her role for the day and confused the masses with a sudden turn of intelligence and authority. Ishtar lost Duzell on the way and went to the meadow to play for a while until she got bored and decided to give Darres a break. She decided to return to the castle. When she came back, she ran into Duzell a second time, but this time he looked exactly like her. The princess was surprised and shoved him into a room and scolded him but then hugged her identical look-alike and told him how she cared about him. She also told him that she would protect him no matter what. That led to Ishtar playing around with the legasarams and ruelle charms and she tossed them out the window. The trouble and her current magic teacher, Yujinn suspected something.

Ishtar eventually found out that her kyarru, Duzell was actually the Vampire King Duzell reincarnated. What a shock that was for the girl but at the end of the volume, she decided to help him find her Great-Grandfather's reincarnation since she didn't like Phelios very much. She accepted the invitation to La Naan and hence, their fun adventures began.

Before they reached La Naan, Ishtar ran off with Duzell disguised as her. She took him to the martial arts ring and told him to fight in her form. He went with the alias: Vampire King Duzell. Ishtar pretty much forced the Duzell into it by previously promising her aunt a hand in marriage for whichever son of hers, out of the three princes of La Naan could defeat Darres in a martial arts tournament. She was certain that Darres would win regardless, but she sent in Duzell as a reassurance to that she wouldn't marry any of her aunt's sons. She also pointed to Duzell, that it was easier to sample blood in the battle field and that not a single person would find it suspicious. It was as if they were killing two birds with one stone. Duzell begrudgingly took up the sword and fought Vord as his first opponent. He drew blood with the edgeless blade and Vord suddenly found himself attracted to Duzell, who was pretending to be Ishtar. Duzell also had a chance to test Vord's blood. He was surprised with what he found out about Vord, and returned to Ishtar confused. He told Ishtar that Vord was unrelated to the royal family and Phelios. Ishtar didn’t know how to respond to that statement, but she managed to say that her aunt was part of the royal family, so any of her children would be carrying some of Phelios’ blood. After the first fight with Duzell and Prince Vord, Darres finally caught up to Ishtar and forced her to move towards La Naan. When they got there, the girl greeted her aunt, Lady Ramia who presented her princes to Ishtar. She then allowed Duzell to take a bite out of her aunt and claimed that her cat was 'spooked' or 'scared.'

She later spent time with Seiliez and lured the boy into her trap, so that Duzell could bite him and test his blood. The plan went sour since Seiliez left and Duzell was unaware of her plan, but that didn't stop them from continuing onwards with their plans. During the whole fiasco with the martial arts tournament, Ishtar learned that all her cousins were adopted, except Seiliez was a descendant of Phelios. Lady Ramia spilled the beans to Ishtar and Darres. Ishtar, understanding her situation, showed her aunt kindness and said that their conversation regarding her adoptive kids never happened. She ordered everyone within the premise that the conversation wouldn’t ever be mentioned again. She ordered it as royal decree. The situation led her to fighting Seiliez in the final match. She conveyed her true feelings to him and also pointed out that he tried to replace his mother's love with Ishtar's love, but she didn't love him the way he wanted her to.

Seiliez then realized that, dropped the fight and walked off. Ishtar said she still loved him but it was a lot different from the love he was thinking. Before Ishtar left for La Naan, Duzell found his way back and told Ishtar that Laphiji got severely injured chasing a vampire and that he needed help. Ishtar relayed the message to her aunt. With that knowledge, Lady Ramia order for a search party to find Laphiji. Ishtar was on the way back home with a gift from her aunt, a kyarru sized Duzie plush. She kept the plush with her most of the time. She claimed it looked like Duzell, while Duzell refused to acknowledge that it looked anything like his cat form.

When they returned to Pheliosta, Ishtar focused a little on her magical studies with Yujinn, but decided that since they didn't get to test Seiliez's blood to see if he was Phelios’ reincarnation or not. Ishtar asked Yujinn about her Lilke Ring, and forced Duzell to dress up once more when she got her answer. She then used the Lilke Ring to transport them to an area that was close to Ci Xeneth and was ways away from La Naan. Duzell was unhappy with the fact that the girl had bad directional skills, but he had no other choice but to deal with it. Ishtar said they were in a familiar territory. She also mentioned that she had an uncle and a cousin there, so they decided to take a break from La Naan and moved towards Ci Xeneth first. Not long after their appearance in that valley, there were bandits trying to kidnap an old man. Ishtar jumped in to help without giving a second thought, getting a guy behind his back with her incoherent zapping spell, and the situation escalated when the bandits got agitated.

Ishtar handed Duzell her sword and told him to take care of the rest after her little trick, and it pissed off Duzell. He was getting tired of cleaning up the messes she started. Duzell was an amazing swordsman unlike Ishtar, so he knocked all the bandits out without even drawing Sidia, seeing that the Holy Sword would not budge from its sheath. Ishtar sustained a small injury from the bandits because they were trying to stab the old man and she shielded him. At the same time, the knights from Ci Xeneth had seen the battle was breaking out and watched until Duzell subdued them. Ishtar and Duzell made acquaintances with the captain of the knights, his soldiers, and the old man that they rescued. Duzell called the captain who was named Illsaide, 'Phelios' at that time because he drew Sidia (Later in the series, it was mentioned that only descendants of Phelios were able to draw Sidia. If one did not have the blood of Phelios in their veins, they could not draw the sword), and the young knight looked confused. He asked if Duzell would be part of his group of soldiers. When they stayed at the tavern a few hours later, Ishtar got a little drunk off the beverages they were serving and started speaking nonsense. Duzell ended up annoyed, and stepped in to stop her from speaking nonsense. When Ishtar was sober, she told Duzell to go ahead and accept the captain's request on being part of his battalion and Duzell reluctantly agreed due to the fact that they needed to infiltrate the castle without drawing her uncle's attention.

While Duzell went off with Illsaide, Ishtar was invited to go monster hunting with the fellow knights. Her uncle had a thing for Ruelles and magical items from what she knew about him, so she came along to see what it was like. The knights explained to her that they were trying to subdue a Lilke so they could use it for making Lilke Rings. When they were there, they saw a very beautiful Lilke who looked like she was about to give birth. Ishtar accidentally shouted because she assumed they were asking her to help kill the creature. She declined loudly, and caused the Lilke to notice their hiding spot and lashed out at the guy next to her. He ended up with a dislocated eye and Ishtar begged her sword to help heal his wound. She managed to fix it up enough so that he wouldn't go blind later. It appeared that the Lilke was under 'The Guardian,' a spell mentioned later that vampires used. After returning back to Ci Xeneth, Ishtar discussed her success with Duzell who told her not to use him as part of her magical experiments. Ishtar just grinned at what he said. The boy came back to tell Ishtar that he was fine and told Duzell that he was invited to Dinner with her uncle.

Duzell tried to get out of it, but Ishtar insisted that he wear a dress and be who he was since he wasn't her at all. She also mentioned how her uncle had a dark sense of humour and wanted her dead. She didn’t want to go around his castle parading as a girl, because she would immediately be suspected... Somehow, Duzell ended up complying much his with his distaste for this whole plan. While Duzell was at the little dinner party with her uncle, Ishtar tried to raid her uncle's wine cellar. She ran into Roy who scared her instead. Roy led her down the wine cellar but there wasn't anything to steal. In fact, all Ishtar saw were a lot of monsters. She was a little repulsed by it. The Archmage, Diaage (Sharlen's alias) told her about the monsters and explained to her why they needed monsters in the first place. Ishtar was shocked with the explanation and disturbed at the same time. She managed to ask him if a Lilke Ring was made from a soul of a Lilke, then what did it take to make something like Sidia? Diaage answered with 'The souls of many vampires from Duzell's clan.' Ishtar having heard enough was ready to leave. That was when she heard that there were monsters attacking the castle. It was the perfect excuse to leave and she did.

Ishtar found Duzell and he was pissed. He explained to her that Vord had followed them here. Ishtar at first didn't know which Vord Duzell was talking about, but eventually she figured it out. Before she could do anything, Ishtar and Duzell ran into Falan, who immediately recognized Ishtar. Since Ishtar was caught, they all ran back to Falan's room to hide out for the time being. Ishtar caught up with her cousin and then decided to take a small nap while making Duzell do other things. Theo other thing Duzell had to do was seducing her uncle. Duzell was hardly amused by the idea, but it seemed to be the only logical way to get blood from her uncle. Ishtar told him that her uncle had strange kinks. Ishtar shared some girl time with her cousin while the two of them couldn't sleep. After a meal, Ishtar ran and the girl decided it was the best idea to let all the monsters in her uncle's wine cellar loose! When all the monsters were set free, they went after her uncle and the people that occupied his castle. Ishtar wasn’t expecting things to get out of hand quickly, but she knew it was the right thing to do, even if the monsters were hurting people. She wanted to return to the main castle to help her uncle out, but she wasn't aware during her thoughts that something was trying to take a swipe at her.

To her luck Darres came and saved the day. He also scolded her at the same time. Ishtar confessed to releasing monsters from their cells. She clung to him saying that she was worried she wouldn't be able to see him again. Darres asked her why, and Ishtar eventually ended up giving him all the juicy details. When greetings were done and Ishtar asked Darres carefully to help her save as much people as he could since it was her fault. He complied, much with his dismay, and the two made their way down the pathway. Ishtar ran into the scene of the crime and recognized the old man she saved from the bandits a few days ago. Her uncle had him incapacitated, and he suffered from mortal wounds. Ishtar jumped into the middle of the battle and shielded him from getting injured any further.

Her uncle mistook her for Duzell at first, but Diaage who now revealed himself as Sharlen claimed that no matter which alias she picked up, she was still Princess Ishtar. Her uncle laughed darkly and was glad she was here. He said that he had what he wanted all in one convenient place. He ordered Ishtar’s death and the old man as hostage. The old man, who was later revealed to be the lord of the sea, was surprised to hear that Ishtar was protecting him but even more shocked when she told him she was Ishtar from the House of Phelios. At that moment, Falan came into the scene, shocked and broke down when Ishtar's uncle said all his doing was in Falan's named. Falan was shocked and hurt. She asked Illsaide to kill her father and before he could actually do that, Ishtar stopped him and told him that Falan didn’t mean what she just said. He was an important person to Falan and she even made Ishtar promise not to hurt her father.

Illsaide was irritated but he didn't try again. Ishtar's uncle ran off while Illsaide tried to comfort Falan. Ishtar decided to scold Illsaide for playing with people's feelings and that he had hurt Duzell's feelings. After Illsaide apologized, Ishtar confessed that Duzell wasn't really a girl and that he was a guy who was also her cat. With that said Ishtar learned that her uncle had been killed by his lieutenant and asked Vord to step in and represent Pheliosta at the funeral. She wasn't comfortable with being around too many of her relatives at once. The lieutenant from what she heard had committed suicide for being unable to protect his lord.

A few weeks later after she returned safely from Ci Xeneth, Ishtar was tricked by her guardian Sir Keld. He told Ishtar that her Aunt Sonia was very ill and was on her death bed. Ishtar packed up and headed straight for Zi Alda where she met her aunt. Lady Sonia told her that she was unwell but she wasn't on her death bed or anything. Ishtar pissed off at being tricked once again commented on Sir Keld's sanity and her guard ended up making her shut her up. After that, she asked her aunt about her pig son. That would be offending to most parents, but her aunt was a sweet lady and dismissed Ishtar’s comments. She answered Ishtar by saying that her son was away on business. Ishtar triumphed that Sir Keld's plan to set her up with Yuujel failed. Ishtar also met Ashley and his wife Leene. She even spoke to Duzell about it later. Duzell wondered if her cousin Yuujel was really a pig, but Ishtar just said that just because she didn't like Yuujel very much.

She resulted to chat with Falan through Darres' magic mirror before falling asleep unguarded. Duzell at that time being able to change into his true form had used that opportunity to transform and messed with Ishtar a little. Sadly to his disappointment, Ishtar woke up right away and was thrilled by his true form. She said that his hair was the scariest aspect about him. Duzell gave her his usual look and said nothing. Later Leene invited Ishtar to go horse-riding the next day and she agreed while asking Leene if she was going to ride a horse or a goat. That pissed off the other girl and the fact that she was older than Ishtar didn't even occur to her, until she said she was twenty-three. Ishtar with her smug look returned to her room. The next day she was ready for some horse riding. Only at that time, Leene had replaced her aunt's horse with a wild one.

Ishtar knew it was a wild horse when she looked it over, while Lucy also mentioned to her that they had the wrong horse. Ishtar decided she wanted to ride it regardless of the fact that it was a wild horse. A bad mistake on her part as soon as she got on the horse, it started to go crazy and dashed off with her. Everyone tried to chase after Ishtar but they were not very successful. Leene only watched in amusement. Ishtar was luckily saved by Yujinn who she was surprised to see, but at the same time Yujinn mused about the fact that he was called someone else here. He asked her if she recalled a boy named Yuujel. Ishtar immediately added together what he meant by that and was shocked. She pointed at Yujinn and cried out: “You’re Yuujel?!” Ishtar hadn’t been so dumbfounded in a long time. Her flirtatious magic teacher was her cousin, Yuujel. Ishtar gave Duzell the details about her cousin and who he was, while trying to get Duzell to understand that Yujinn and Yuujel was the same person. Duzell was shocked as well. He mentioned to her that he didn't feel comfortable around Yujinn, and now that was posing more trouble for him than he would like. He also told her that her aunt's condition wasn’t very well off either and Lady Sonia would die around a decade. Ishtar felt a little saddened but she was happy with it. Her aunt had a wonderful life and she didn't want to think about her death as much as she should.

The next day Leene invited them to go out into town and Vord offered to pay. Somehow, they all ended up at a tavern and Ishtar was having a fun time drinking all the alcohol. She got a little more than just drunk, though. She was all over the place and calling Vord out on a lot of things while he was amused with the whole situation. He had recently learned about Ishtar and Duzell, and being a little tipsy, he started hitting on Duzell while he was still a cat. The guards were confused, trying to figure out what was going on. Leene assumed they were all crazy and wasn't sure why she was even there with them anymore. Ishtar drew the line when she poured the drink over Vord's head. Leene automatically freaked and slapped Ishtar, thinking that Ishtar could have blinded Vord, because of the poison that she put into his that specific drink. Leene originally wanted them all to go out of town so she could poison Vord. She wanted Ishtar to suffer, so if she took down the people close to her, Ishtar would have been miserable. She was unaware that they had to digest the poison in order to become blind, and slapped Ishtar for pouring the drink over Vord’s head. Ishtar was still confused to why she had been slapped, and the guards had to take Leene back to the castle, assuming that she was heavily drunk. The next day Ishtar apologized to Vord and bowed her head in shame. After that, she went horse riding with Leene again and this time Leene had her mystery horse in which she named Pucentro. Ishtar still couldn’t pronounce its name, but was surprised at how stubborn Leene was. Leene was trying to get the wild horse to obey her, but ended up being thrown off a couple of times. She kept trying until she managed to get on the horse without it throwing her off.

Ishtar was proud of Leene’s accomplishment and smugly smiled. That same evening, there was a get-together with some of the royal family and other aristocrats. Ishtar asked Duzell about the mysterious woman, Diaage since he seemed to know the woman but Duzell replied saying that it might not the same one. He left Ishtar and went to find Diaage. Leene confronted Ishtar and asked about who she liked. Ishtar then gave her a list and Leene downgraded the list. Ishtar decided it would be funny to mess with Leene, and told her that she was in love with Yuujel. Leene was definitely thrown off by what Ishtar had said. She then later proceeded to try to poison Ishtar, but her plan was foiled when Sharlen once again interfered and told the masses that Leene was trying to poison Ishtar. Ishtar told Duzell to counter the poison if it was poison. Ishtar was about to drink the poisoned beverage when Darres took it and drank from it instead. He showed them all how harmless the drink was but, Ishtar was not convinced. She was very worried and even threatened Leene that if anything happened to Darres she would kill Leene with her own hands.

Before the whole fiasco, Ashley replaced all of Leene’s poisonous pills with candy fakes. He told Yujinn about it afterwards. With another event done, Ishtar returned home again. Before she could do anything when she got home, more problems began. Yujinn carefully devised a plan that somehow got Darres to be called his older half-brother. That didn't really help Ishtar and company, since her cousin Lassen was behind her previous poisoning with Leene. Sharlen took the form of Diaage and tried to complicate Ishtar’s life by using Leene in his plans. When the letters were sent out to all four corners of Pheliosta, Lassen was the first to rebel and sent his own people, Sharlen and a knight by the name of Hume to Pheliosta Castle, so they could speak with Ishtar. Sharlen made it even more complicated for Ishtar by pointing out the fact that Sidia was a holy weapon that was only able to be drawn by the descendants of Phelios. Ishtar was pretty much in a corner again, uncertain to how a vampire like Sharlen was able to get his hands on information regarding Sidia. Yujinn did quick thinking and left with Darres straight off to Mil Seii while asking Ishtar's permission to send Sidia there after them.

They were planning on beating Sidia there. Ishtar thought it was ludicrous, but she and Duzell beat the two and Sidia to Mil Seii with Duzell's teleportation magic. They ended up in the middle of the castle, in which one of the subjects there ushered Ishtar to leave while Lassen, her cousin was out and about. Ishtar agreed to leave, but returned secretly with Duzell. She also met Lailis, who Ishtar learned was the reincarnation of Rishas, one of Duzell's talented servants during his reign of terror. She left them alone for a few moments, before deciding to pay her cousin a visit. Ishtar invaded the throne room of Mil Seii and demanded an audience with Lassen. Lassen, who had recently returned, greeted her with a pleasant air, only whispering threats to her while the court was still in shock at her sudden appearance. She approached Lassen the way she did, because she wanted him to stop hamstringing people and playing with poisons. Lassen decided to attack Ishtar verbally saying that she shouldn’t be worried about a few pawns, when her king was ‘in check.’

Ishtar was furious with what he had said and at Lassen and demanded Lassen to release her guard. She also warned him to release whatever other captives he had under his wing, or she would take drastic action against him. After that fiasco, Ishtar found Darres and Yujinn, unharmed. Darres was still recovering from being poisoned thanks to Lassen. She spent some time with Yujinn while they were still waiting for Sidia to come in. Ishtar spent most her alone time with Darres and bonded with him while arguing how he was being careless. Darres didn't get it, because if she was worrying about him, then how was he supposed to do his job? Sidia finally arrived and right before that Yujinn and concocted a plan that he thought might work. It involved putting Ishtar's blood in Darres' veins and vice versa but they needed Duzell's help to do this. When Duzell successfully performed the spell he told them to be careful and not strain themselves. Darres miraculously drew Sidia thanks to Duzell, and Lassen allowed them to return to Pheliosta in one piece for now. Lailis ended up staging an insurrection with Sharlen, sending her 'Once Fallen Knights' on the loose and anyone else who were from her homeland, Lodoc were mind controlled into attacking the people of Mil Seii and killing everyone from her past life. Ishtar and company were stuck in the middle of it.

Duzell eventually shouted that he had taken Ishtar's and Darres' blood and swapped them. They had to return to Pheliosta so that the process could be reversed. Ishtar demanded to stay because she didn't want to see her subjects being slaughtered, but Yujinn managed to reason with her to eventually leave with Darres. Ishtar and Darres were forced to leave with Duzell, while Yujinn remained to help clean up the mess that was created. It wasn't long after she returned that things got even more out of hand. On top of recovering and healing from Mill Seii's events, Falan had been kidnapped it seems and Vord and Illsaide were going insane trying to find her. Eventually, Vord and Yujinn set out for Rezenia, with the help of Selen who had just returned from her reign in Rezenaia. They all left quickly knowing Ishtar would follow. Yujinn mentioned to Vord that Ishtar would have a difficult time trying to get to Rezenia, since Duzell didn't know where it was. Yujinn was somehow right Duzell never setting foot in Rezenia before. Ishtar tried to sneak out after that but got caught by Darres. From that point she took on more sword fighting lessons with Darres and even apologized to Darres for loving him.

Falan was already found at this point but she was under a vampire’s spell. Right after Vord and Yujinn left, she woke up and as soon as Ishtar got back from her fighting lessons, she and Duzell set off to Rezenia, while detouring in Ci Xeneth to check on Falan. With some chit chat and questions about well-being, Ishtar was upset again learning that Illsaide had decided to side against Pheliosta. Right before they reached Rezenia, Ishtar found Darres making his trip to there as well. Eventually, Ishtar, Duzell and Darres found their way to Rezenia. When they got there, they heard a death detonation, and Darres broke off running while Ishtar followed right after. When they reached the room, Ishtar found that the current king of Rezenia had killed Yujinn. Ishtar was enraged and pointed Sidia at him, when Darres stopped her. She learned that the man that had killed Yujinn was the King of Rezenia. That shocked her even more. The unfortunate thing was that everything was carefully plotted by Lassen. Lassen ordered Sharlen to possess the ill king, and killed Yujinn in his room.

Ishtar didn't learn of that until much later. She eventually did meet the King of Rezenia and still accused him of killing her cousin even though he said it was out of defense. He even asked Ishtar a personal question about why her great-grandfather wanted to be reborn. Ishtar selflessly said that if she were her great-grandfather she would want to be reincarnated to see her loved ones. That was something that she personally wanted to be reincarnated for. That stirred up restless emotions in the sleeping king, while Sharlen wrestled for control of the king’s body. The response surprised a lot of people in the throne room. Right before Ishtar left the throne room; one of Lassen's guards went and told Ishtar that they had Duzell and Vord. Ishtar of course, rushed into danger again to save her cousin and Duzell. Darres said he would fight for both Ishtar and Duzell, if that was her resolve. In return, Ishtar had to explain everything to him when all of this blew over. Ishtar nodded her head and allowed Darres to play his role, while following closely behind. When they reached the tower, Ishtar and Darres confronted Lassen head on and Lassen made the situation difficult by using his vampire servants. They slowed down Ishtar and Darres’ goal to free Duzell.

Darres managed to fend off Lassen for quite a while, but being known for his poison hobby, Lassen had some poisonous incense circulating the room without ventilation. The poison was weakening Darres quickly, and he was having a hard time fending off Lassen's assault. Through a miracle one of Duzell's old vampire subjects broke ranks and managed to unseal the door for Duzell with Darres' help before he passed out. When Duzell was freed, he immediately got rid of the other vampire servants he had with a Holy Spell. That was a big surprise for everyone in the room to see, but he explained that it was the legsarams and ruelles that weakened his vampire magic and energy that allowed him to use holy magic. Lassen smirked and said that he could use it but it was wholly useless against a mortal like him. Duzell corrected him and replied with the fact that there was one specific spell that could kill him. Ishtar realized what spell it was and screamed for him to stop. It was too late, however. Duzell used 'La Gamme,' the self-destructive spell, eliminating Lassen and himself from existence. Ishtar cried her eyes out, trying to stop Duzell, but all was futile. Duzell finished the incantation. Lassen was shocked by Duzell's decisions, but laughed miserably as he was forced to die. There was not much Lassen could do in his situation.

◎ Is the character a hacker and/or do they have a sixth-sense? Ishtar isn't a hacker, and does not have a sixth sense.

◎ Personality:
Most of the time, Ishtar can be an idiot. She’s a rude girl, with an intolerable personality, and no manners. She likes to speak her mind more than anything, while complaining about the smallest problems.

She never enjoyed being ordered around. She often ditched her classes, just so that she could play in the fields. She always had ways of getting herself into dangerous situations and coming up with ideas that were downright stupid. She always needed to be saved by Duzell or Darres for her actions. Her antics were usually brainless and things usually happened without her properly understanding them. She never knew the danger she posed to herself and those around her. It would take some time before she learned and grew as a person.

She cherished her loved ones and didn’t wish for anything to happen to them. She would fight for them, even though she was aware of her own lack of abilities. She tried her best to help make the people around her happy.

She was sometimes seen as a tomboy, because of the way she spoke or how she acted. She was also shown as someone who didn’t like to date, or have a significant other who was better looking than her. Ishtar knew she was pretty, so she used that against people to get what she wanted. She could be sweet when she wanted to be and she would die to protect the ones she loved and cherished. She believed that the people of her kingdom used to love her only because she carried the sacred blood of their saviour, St. Phelios in her veins. Phelios was a man who was a great warrior and someone who had established Pheliosta. His descendants were expected to follow his footsteps as excellent rulers. With that being said, Ishtar grew up with high expectations that led to her cold view of him for most of her life. It was also because of that reason that Ishtar grew up to dislike her ancestry. Ishtar could be charming, as well as goofy and sarcastic. It all depended on her situation and the trouble she was trying to get out of. She could be serious when it involved her people. Ishtar wanted to protect her people as the Princess of Pheliosta, even though she didn't act up to it. She often never took no for an answer, and demanded that her advisers and workers follow what she wanted.

Ishtar was someone that anyone could easily get along with. She had the natural aura of attracting unwanted attention. When she attended serious events such as dinner parties or balls, she showed the guests her mature and serious side, but it was all an act to hide her inner thoughts and feelings. Sometimes that mask would crack. She wasn't good at politics, but she would try her best to keep situations as peaceful as possible. She didn't want her country to end up in war, and she certainly didn't want her citizens to end up in the middle of a slaughter.

Ishtar couldn’t stand to see her loved ones in danger, but she was usually the cause for their distress. Darres was the person that Ishtar loved the most. Yujinn once said that Ishtar loved Darres as child and as a young woman. She would kill anyone that posed as a threat to her bodyguard and would die to protect him. At some point in the series, she claimed that she would prefer him a vampire if Duzell could change anyone, so that she would not have to watch him grow old and die.

Ishtar felt guilty for loving Darres, because she knew that he wanted to remain as a bodyguard and not the King of Pheliosta. He never enjoyed the aspects of royalty and would prefer a quiet life over a hectic aristocratic one. She knew that very well yet, it didn't stop her from loving Darres the way she did. Ishtar didn't want to lose Darres and would do anything in her power to protect him. He was someone that could not be replaced by any means and no matter what; she would not stop loving Darres. He was a source of her happiness as well as her sorrow. She eventually apologized for loving him, and he accepted her apology. Ishtar was uncertain of his feelings still, but she only hoped that one day her feelings would be reciprocated.

Ishtar had a darker side that often came out when people were threatened a bit too much. Ishtar took offense to anyone who threatened Darres, and would not hesitate to kill them, if anything were to happen to Darres. Leene was not exception. Ishtar stated up front to her that she would kill her if Darres was hurt in any way or form. She might not be as protective of others close to her, but she certainly would do something similar for them.

Duke Lassen was one of the few people that she hated with every fiber of her being; because he did things that went against everything she believed in. He attempted to assassinate her under poor circumstances a few times, but what Ishtar hated the most about him was his usage of people. Everyone was a pawn to him, so it didn’t matter what happened to them. Once they exhausted their uses, he would replace them. She didn't approve of people being used as tools, or objects of war. It was something that left a bad taste in her mouth. When Lassen was threatening Ishtar with Darres and Falan's life, Ishtar would not hesitate to also throw out that she would kill him if he if anything happened to them. Ishtar rarely showed this side of her personality, unless she needed to. She could also be infuriated when it concerned humans being used as pawns for other people. She hated the general idea and she wouldn't accept it. She'll do anything within her power to prevent it from happening. People were living and breathing creatures; they shouldn't be subjected to such cruelties. It didn't seem right. She viewed non-human creatures the same way and often justified why they did what they did. Unlike some of her relatives and the general public, Ishtar wasn't terrified of vampires. She knew that there were good ones out there that contradicted the bad ones. She also spent most her time around the strongest of all vampires. There was little that she feared.

Ishtar was selfish at times, but she was also loving and caring. For each and every one of her relatives, whether it was Falan or even Illsaide, Ishtar cherished them at and did not want them to suffer because of her. Ishtar would weep for those who have died, especially if they are close to her. Despite not having parents to look after her, she was able to establish and love her adopted family as if they were her true family. With that being said, Ishtar began to cherish her lineage and the people she was left to govern instead of hating her birth right. She didn't have parents to look after her, but she wasn’t completely lonely.

She was quick to run her mouth as she would to chase after Darres and Yujinn. When she spoke sometimes, her speech pattern ranged from shouting insults to cursing people out when she was infuriated.

It was rare that she would react aggressively towards people, but there were times when people spoke of offending subjects, and Ishtar retaliated by throwing words, rather than swords. She wasn't a fighter and she didn't approve of bloodshed as a way to solve problems. She would rather have them all sit down and discuss it in a professional manner. As mentioned, she wasn't the kind of person whom thought things through and often acted on her heart, rather than using her brain. If she thought it was the right thing to do then she would do it. She didn't view things in black and white, but rather in a way that made logical sense. If it felt right to set free a bunch of locked up monsters inside a castle, then Ishtar would do it. She sometimes felt responsible for relatives’ actions and would take the blame for them.

The princess also had a thing for food. She loved gourmet food so if it smelt good and tasted good, then she would have a fork and a knife ready to eat it all up. Food made her happy sometimes. She did raid the kitchen in the past for food when she felt the need to. She ate more than a normal girl her age, and sometimes people wondered how she didn't gain any weight from it. Ishtar could also drink, but didn't know how to hold her liquor. She got easily drunk and started spouting things that she shouldn't be saying. When she was drunk, she would get riled up and start doing ridiculous things. She forced Leene into drinking all the alcohol on the tray because it amused her. She would charge Leene with treason if she didn't obey a royal decree. She ended up pouring alcohol over Vord's head and accusing him of a few terms. When she was sober again, she had no idea what she did the previous night, or what happened. Her bodyguards told her everything and Ishtar apologized to Vord for being tanked the other night. It would be in her best interest to not drink, but it didn't stop her from getting her hands on alcohol if she wanted to.

It was also mentioned that she had some traits that were similar to that of St. Phelios. She may not be his reincarnation, but she was believed to be by both Duzell and Sharlen. Duzell had thought he made a mistake when he tested her blood, and Sharlen thought that she had the soul of Phelios in her body, because of her response to his question. Phelios had answered the same way she did in the past. When Ishtar was asked if she was her great-grandfather, why would she want to be reincarnated a hundred years later? Ishtar responded saying that she wanted to see her loved ones again. She wanted to know how they were, and if the loved ones she knew had grown old or died. Her answer stirred emotions from the person asking the question. This proved that she had grown up as a person, and that she somewhat understood her great-grandfather, even if she didn't agree to be chained by his laws.

Ishtar also mentioned that she wanted to die protecting her loved ones, if she were to pick a way to die. She said that she would do the same thing her great-grandfather did. She wouldn't mind if she died protecting her loved ones. It was a noble thing she would do and respected Phelios for his sacrifice for Pheliosta.

◎ Powers/Abilities:
Canon Abilities
Fighting/Fencing/Sword Skills:Sometimes she is capable of stabbing pretty slowly and striking the enemy with a few minour blows, but she has no killer's intent and doesn't know how to properly wield a sword at all. Even with Darres' help she can't do much more than defend and hit when the enemy's back is turned.

Magic: From Ishtar's world there is something known as magic, and people can cast it. There is holy magic, blood magic, black magic, and elemental magic from what I seen. Ishtar can only cast holy magic that is wholly useless against anyone other than a vampire from her world. Though, she could use healing spells with the assistance of Sidia at times, and knows a few of them, she can't always remember them and use them correctly. Ishtar can cast a damage type magic, only when an enemy's back is turned. In short, she can't remember many spells. What she initially knows is La Gamme the spell that could obliterate any enemy with the cost of your life, used by St. Phelios against the Vampire King Duzell.

Stealth/Cat Like Reflexes: Ishtar's good at running around and hiding from people, ditching lessons and such, so evading the people is a good skill she had practiced while she was young. Ishtar usually finds strange maneuvers to escape the castle, but never really the best, but she is capable of running off and having people search her for a long time to find her. Note that she can jump out of two or three story windows with a rope and she can also climb pretty high on a tree. Ishtar's overall ability is similar to that of a 'cat' she even claims at times she has cat-like reflexes. Did I mention she likes raiding kitchens for food?

Ruelles:I have no idea where this would go, but canonly Ishtar has a pair of earrings, necklace, and bracelets that are known as ruelles. They're protective charms that protect her from harm as well. They were given to her for her safety due to being a princess in castle and soon to be Queen of Pheliosta. They have no fighting purposes, but these things are definitely high on defensive magic. They are also charms that are infused with Holy Magic to protect her against undead as well as other dangerous situations.

Facility Developed Abilities
Sword Skills: Ishtar's been at Facility for about three and a half years and in those three and a half years, she's pushed herself to be able to wield her only weapon better. Since Duzell had own Sidia back for Ishtar, she would not let his efforts go to waste. Ishtar can decently hold her ground against most humanoid opponents i.e. opponents that are on the level of human beings with human strength and speed etc. Ishtar can pretty much hold her ground with those people pretty well.

Magic: Ishtar can heal a lot better and memorizing incantations isn't as hard as it was before either. Ishtar can now use those healing abilities on people and heal them a good amount. Her defensive capabilities with magic are also getting better as well. She can also use Sidia as an amplifier for her magic as well. Ishtar's Holy Magic has improved. She can minourly use defense spells and some damage spells, but she is still learning so it will take some time. Ishtar's magic will eventually grow significantly if she keeps up her attitude for it, but incantations of course takes time to be learned. Ishtar's magic has greatly increased due to having Yujinn teaching her. Tracking spells, offensive spells and more defensive spells. Ishtar can aim to use them accurately against some supernatural opponents but she has yet to gain more stamina for it.

Fighting: Ishtar can properly kick someone in the shin or punch someone in the face etc. She's pretty decent at that if not gaining a lot more experience in that. Ishtar isn't the best fighter but she's working on her melee combat skills. These skills grow as she has to fight for her life, thus the hesitation and guilt she sometimes felt can be overlooked as she engages in combat. She learned a lot of her abilities from Duzell and Zero Kiryuu

Samples

◎ First-Person Sample:
Here (newer sample) & Here & Here (April & May 2012 at [community profile] a_facility for an idea of how Ishtar sounds coming from Facility.)

◎ Third-Person Sample:
It was a large brightly lit location, filled with unknown people and unknown places. It was vast and lonely, yet Ishtar found it somewhat nostalgic. It lacked what Facility had, a dreary place full of white rooms, with uncomfortable bedding and food that tasted like cardboard. Ishtar wasn't too keen on what these new people wanted, since she didn't have much of a choice but to help. Ishtar knew she was soft towards helping people, aliens, whatever. It didn't really matter to her. There wasn't much left for her in Facility anyway. There was a chilling thought from her.

Who was she kidding? She hated that place but people she loved and cared about were there. They were there, and she could save them. That's at least, what she was told anyway. Somehow, she ended up in the large marketplace lit with many light and people moving about. The small bat was perched on her head, squeaking, reminding her that it wanted something to eat, while Bells, her cat was in her arms, as she walked about, and exploring her new surroundings. It didn't seem like a prison at all. In fact, it was way more luxurious than she had imagined, yet, something was still off.

Ishtar couldn't easily accept things just like that. She was fighting so hard to leave and here she was with her animals, alone as if she was the only one that mattered. Ishtar didn't believe herself to be that valuable, just as she thought when she remembered her past. The market place was rather soothing to Ishtar, since she often thought about the world that she knew about. The one that she supposedly came from. Even now, she still thought that perhaps she didn't really have a place anymore in Pheliosta. It just didn't seem like her anymore.

She was different. She came from a place that forced her to grow up and her hands were stained with red. It's not like she could go one forgetting that she had taken human lives of people she knew, whether she was mind controlled or not, didn't seem relevant. All she knew was that her body did it, thus she was responsible. She clutched Bells close to her as Pico nipped her hair.

"Hehe, alright, alright, let's see how I can get some food for the three of us here, since I bet you're both starving like crazy. I'm kind of hungry myself," she softly laugh. It was more of a sad laugh than anything, "I wonder if anyone else is here that I know-- or maybe I'm just hoping that I'm not the only one here," she mused closing her eyes. Well, it's fine. She needed to be strong for the people she cared about. They surely weren't going to be happy with her if they saw her like this. It was a good time to explore the marketplace more and Ishtar continued to traverse it until she felt comfortable enough to go back.

Ishtar had a lot of things to think about with her current situation. There was no one she knew and she was left for herself. She could play around but there wasn’t a single person she knew here that would cover if she got in trouble. That really sucked though. She wanted to at least play a few silly games here and there to keep her mind off of thing. She also knew that it didn't really matter since she didn't want to rely on the people that cared about her too much. She didn't want to be their burden. She would rather be their strength.
◎ Is your character retaining any previous game memories? Yes. She'll have her previous memories from [community profile] a_facility and here's a link to the History. It's a little lengthy but it's here just in case mods need it. Ishtar's personality has changed a little from her canon so here's the information as well:
[community profile] a_facility Developed Personality

Ishtar learned a lot of life lessons from this place. She isn't as bratty as she would usually be and matured in the past three and a half years due to her constant gain and loss of important people. She has more respect for what little she has and the people she learned to trust and love are even more important to her now then they were in the past. She also has a lingering attachment to Duzell, much stronger than her canon with him because Duzell had always been there for her no matter what so she always had those unknown feelings developing in her heart. Ishtar also isn't as stupid as she was in the past. She could think through situations a little better and she isn't much of an airhead, though she still has her dumb moments, she actually tries to learn and manifest her abilities from home.

Facility really pushed her to the limit where attachment will be a little difficult for her, but also because it has taught her things that she would never know in her own canon, especially the love and care she has for many people. to dearly hate and the vampire king who she only felt a platonic love for. They were much more important. Ishtar is also more determined to change herself and be able to protect herself instead of always playing the 'damsel in distress.' As much as she loved Darres with all her heart. She also learned that she should try to love someone else the way she loved Darres, but that someone isn't there yet as well as her attachment and dire love for Darres is still there, but she doesn't freak out by the fact that Darres isn't with her. She's learned to slowly and gradually let that go as well. She's also on her way to becoming a better lady but her tomboy attitude still sticks for now. She has yet to fully outgrow that. After all she goes around swinging swords and climbing vegetation.

Ishtar learned how to depend on herself instead of others, even if she still depended on people, it isn't much. She now has a sort of dormant fear of losing people so she won't get as attached to them as she should canonly. This transition helped her become a better person. Ishtar at a certain point was able to analyze things carefully, and understand her situations. The most important part is her trouble making days aren't over. That is an aspect of Ishtar that never dies out even now. Ishtar still has her stubborn personality and hard headed until the end. She's always determined to see things through no matter what. It would take a long time convincing her not to do things when she sets her mind to it. She still has her usual goofy personality, but probably not as immature as she was before. She might let a snide joke out here and there but that is about it.

Ishtar has also gained a greater appreciation for her great-grandfather St. Phelios, because she can now understand his reasons for doing what he did. She also at some point tried to put herself in his shoes and observed everything from his point of view. She even mentioned that if there was any reason for her great-grandfather to be reincarnated, then it had to be the reason that he wanted to see his family again. Ishtar believed that very much because she too would want to be reincarnated to be with her loved ones. The girl now respected her cousin, Yujinn a lot more now. He isn't as bad as she originally thought he was, and what he had done for her, she could not repay him back for, due to his death. At Facility she was able to spend more time with him as well as learn a lot from his intelligence. Yujinn was indeed a very good strategist, teacher, and relative despite his popular scandals.

The girl also learned a great deal about having siblings. When these important people treated her like part of a family, it made her feel a lot more loved and cared for. She was treated like everyone else, so she had good taste of what it was like to be a normal girl living a normal life with interesting sibling figures to look up to. Ishtar respected that greatly and appreciated even more. She was glad that she had a chance to experience that. She certainly would never forget it and would one day want to make up for what these people had done for her. Ishtar was happy to know that she was cared for like sibling and protected like one as well despite the constant repetition of certain warnings such as: don't get into dangerous situations, don't attract enemy attention and so on.

After the Skrulls week experiment, Ishtar learned that she had grown used to the bloodshed and the killing that happened so much in Facility that she was prepared to make that sacrifice for her friends and family. There was a lot of hesitation and thinking on her part, but she was prepared to kill monsters as well as dangerous entities in order to protect the people that she held dear to her. She isn't as hesitant as she would be in canon if this subject came up but being at Facility forced her to mature to this point. She might not enjoy it and doesn't like the idea of killing but she is more willing to make that sacrifice if it will do good for the people she cared about and the people around her.
